Where to find product documentation?

pbbi-logoWith publishing the new Pitney Bowes Business Insight website at http://www.pbinsight.com there has been a major overhaul of restructuring and integrating contents of the MapInfo and G1 websites.

So the new spot to find all product documentation, neatly categorized, is http://www.pbinsight.com/support/product-documentation/.

judgeFor those of you that can no longer wait to work with the newest release of MapInfo Professional, it is good to now that a free fully functional 30 day trial version can be downloaded after registration at http://www.pbinsight.com/ten/.

"The World Is A Village…"

One of the collegues in the PBBI MapInfo Benelux office maintains a website with a lot of useful (technical) info on MapBasic, MapInfo Professional, Vertical Mapper, Tools and data.world

The site can be found at http://www.twiav.nl/ and the name of the site explains the title of this post.

So go there and get your syntax highlighting for coding MapBasic in NotePad++ and tips about accessing WMS layers in Proviewer, using Oracle Express Spatial etc.

Thanks Egge-Jan for putting this online!

MAPINFOW.PRJ

This one is about projection, datums, coordinate systems…

MapInfo Professional uses a file MAPINFOW.PRJ to store data about all supported coordinate systems.

You can add information if you need support for custom data or coordinate systems that are not already available in MapInfo Professional.

For example the Belgium Lambert 2005 and 2008 systems are not in the current 9.5.1 version.

Check out MAPINFOW.PRJ for more information on working with -your own- coordinate systems in MapInfo Profesisonal.
